The Ontario gaming authority, AGCO, has removed its limitations on wagering on Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bouts. This decision comes after a collaboration with U.S. Integrity, an organization specializing in the surveillance of betting trends for any irregular activities.
Previously, the AGCO had prohibited wagers on UFC events due to worries about possible match manipulation. This action was taken after the emergence of peculiar betting patterns, prompting the regulatory body to intervene. Currently, with U.S. Integrity involved, the AGCO is assured that the legitimacy of UFC betting within Ontario can be upheld.
This is a significant victory for both the UFC and its enthusiasts in Ontario, who are now able to place legal bets on the matches. Furthermore, the UFC has reinforced its own regulations, explicitly stating that fighters, or any individuals connected to them, are strictly forbidden from placing wagers on any UFC fight.
We were genuinely thrilled to collaborate with UFC. As true trailblazers in their field, we aim to assist them in maintaining their leading position by ensuring absolute fairness and integrity. Being a part of this endeavor is a privilege.”
