The Australian gaming and slot machine enterprise, Aristocrat Leisure Limited, announced impressive results for the initial six months of its 2022 fiscal year. For the period ending March 31, 2022, revenue escalated by 23%, reaching AU$2.75 billion (US$1.92 billion). This surge was attributed to the ongoing expansion of their Pixel United and gaming holdings, a significant rise in direct gaming machine sales (aided by relaxed Covid-19 measures and increased client capital allocations), and robust performance across their product range.
Financial gains were also noteworthy. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) saw a 30% year-over-year increase, reaching AU$970.3 million, with the EBITDA margin expanding by 1.9 percentage points to 35.3%. The company’s profitability was further underscored by a 41% year-on-year rise in normalized profit after tax and before the amortization of acquired intangibles (NPATA), which hit AU$580 million.
Trevor Croker, CEO and Managing Director, remarked on the company’s achievements: “Aristocrat delivered a remarkable and adaptable performance despite unpredictable and demanding circumstances. We implemented decisive measures to safeguard our workforce and operations while making strategic capital investments to expedite our growth plan.” He further emphasized the company’s dedication to investing in personnel, innovation, and offerings, which has enabled them to capture market share and attain substantial revenue and profit expansion in the first half of fiscal 2022.
