The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has issued blocking orders against six unlawful offshore internet gambling and partner websites.
The organization declared that the gambling sites Pokies Parlour and Ninja Spins, and the affiliate websites Pokies Online Casino, CasinoAus, Australian Casino Sites, and AU Online Casino, have broken the Interactive Gambling Act of 2000.
Consequently, the ACMA has requested Australian Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to obstruct access to these websites.
Since first requesting blocks in November 2019, the ACMA stated it has blocked 426 unlawful gambling websites in Australia.
Since 2017, when the ACMA began enforcing new regulations against illegal offshore gambling, more than 160 illegal service providers have retreated from the Australian market.
The ACMA said, “Website blocking is one of a variety of enforcement actions to safeguard Australians from unlawful online gambling. Website blocking provides a valuable chance to raise awareness of illegal gambling services through the warning messages that appear when people attempt to access the sites.”
The Australian government has taken additional steps to curb online gambling, blocking twelve more websites as directed by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA). The sites that have been blocked include Zebet, Zeturf, Slot Vibe, Arlekin Casino, Johnnie Kash Kings, Lucky Star, Horus Casino, 21 Dukes, Tangiers Casino, 7 Reels, Winward Casino, and Thebes Casino.
