The gambling sector has remained unwavering in its backing of the Ukrainian people since the commencement of hostilities in Ukraine.
Over the past week, the Ukrainian gambling sector has initiated an endeavor to gather £250,000 for Ukrainian war refugees. All funds collected will be contributed to the “Choose Love” Ukraine crisis fundraising drive.
To date, the fundraising drive has garnered over £60,000.
Furthermore, operators LeoVegas and ATG have both contributed to the Red Cross. ATG donated 2 million Swedish Krona to the charity, with Chief Corporate Communications Officer Patrick Brisman adding that the company is investigating ways to engage customers as well.
Meanwhile, LeoVegas donated 500,000 Swedish Krona. “This crisis is devastating and disheartening, and everyone in our office is keen to contribute,” stated LeoVegas CEO Gustaf Hagman.
“Consequently, the LeoVegas Group has decided to donate 500,000 Swedish Krona to the Red Cross to support their life-saving efforts in the region. The Red Cross is already operating in the conflict zone and neighboring nations, with a priority on preserving lives.”
In the meantime, the British government revealed penalties against Russia and Belarus in reaction to the military action. Simultaneously, ICE London organizer Clarion Gaming declared that Russian and Belarusian businesses would not be permitted to attend its gatherings or engage through its online platforms.
“In light of the current situation in Ukraine, we have made the decision to bar the participation of Russian and Belarusian state entities, businesses, and their representatives in Clarion Gaming events and digital offerings, including ICE and iGB Affiliate, which are scheduled to take place in London in 2022,” the company stated.
“We stand in solidarity with all those impacted by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.”
